Some moments in business stop you in your tracks. For me, one of those moments was discovering the Prestige Awards seven years ago whilst working with The Arts College. I remember thinking, this is perfect for them. They were doing such incredible work, and I felt strongly that they deserved to be recognised for it. So I put them forward. A year later, we were winners. And then we won again. And again. And again. The Southern England Prestige Award for Art School of the Year, five consecutive years, from 2020 to 2025.
What Does a VA Actually Do in Moments Like This?
People often think a virtual assistant just handles emails and diaries. And yes, I do that too! But sometimes the role is about something bigger, spotting an opportunity, believing in your client, and quietly doing the work that makes recognition possible.
Behind those five awards was years of seamless admin, student communications handled with care, policies kept up to date, and a back end that just worked, every single day. But it went further than that. I was also involved in creating new opportunities and courses for the students, helping the college grow its offering and truly stand out in a competitive field.
